Fellowship Groups

There are a variety of fellowship groups at Grace.  These groups are open to all members.  They usually meet monthly for a business meeting, lunch and topic.  .

Ladies' Aid
This group meets on the second Thursday of each month at 2:00 p.m.  This group is generally responsible for activities such as anniversary receptions and funeral lunches held in the church basement. They expand their helpfulness by financial support of such organizations as the Lutheran Hour and Bethesda Home.  The Grace Lutheran Ladies aid Society organized april 14, 1920.

Lutheran Women's Missionary League
This group meets the first Thursday of each quarter, January, April, July and October, beginning with a noon lunch.  The main emphasis of the LWML is mission work.  Since the day of its organization February 14, 1946, this group set and continues to set worthy goals.  The traditional mite box donations gathered quarterly combine with the donations internationally to accomplish outstanding missionary goals, such as kits for the homeless and quilts.

Mary-Martha Society
The Mary-Martha Society meets the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.  This group was begun as a working women's group, since Ladies' Aid and LMWL meet in the afternoon.  This group offers an annual salad bar near Mother's Day, and in the past assisted with the Vacation Bible School closing program.  A goal of this group lies in the continued study of God's word.

Lutheran Laymen's League
Grace Lutheran Laymen's League (LLL) meets the fourth Sunday evening each month at 7:00 p.m. in the church basement.  this group is open to anyone in the congregation.

LLL is the sponsor for Lutheran Hour Ministries.

Koinonia
The Koinonia Club meets each month on the second Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m.  Koinonia appeals to couples in the congregation. One of the later developed organizations in Grace Lutheran formed on December 15, 1974, with the goal of spiritual growth, Christian fellowship, and to enhance Christian home-life.  This group has begun a fellowship objective and offers personal service to the elderly of the congregation who may be physically incapacitated.  Also, shut-ins will receive visits from this group's outreach endeavor.  The annual Chili Oyster Dinner is a project supported by this group.

Lutheran Youth fellowship
Youth of the congregation are invited to join Lutheran Youth Fellowship (LYF).  This group is open to anyone in the congregation who is in high school.  Activities and meetings are as announced.

The youth group participates in National Lutheran Youth gatherings.  Each summer a major outing is planned which is supported by several adult couples who supervise the trip.  This excursion provides a recreational interlude while promoting the study of God's word and Christian fellowship.

For the Christmas celebration these youth provide a live nativity scene with livestock provided from area farms.  Also, in connection with the christmas festivities the Youth Light group wrap presents donated for families in need and deliver them to the families' Christmas tree.
